Film Federation of Arunachal: About Us
The Film Federation of Arunachal (FFA) is a non-profit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Federation was established in the year 2014 to pursue development and welfare of film making community in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
The main objectives of the Federation are to recognize and promote state-based filmmakers and assist in creating a market base for indigenously produced films in the state and also at regional, national and international levels.
Since its establishment, the Federation has conducted several workshops on filmmaking for the benefit of state-based filmmakers and has also successfully assisted the Government of Arunachal Pradesh towards the development of the Arunachal Pradesh Film Policy 2020.
Among the key events that the Film Federation of Arunachal undertakes each year is the Arunachal Film Festival and the State Film Awards.
The executive body of the Film Federation of Arunachal is elected/selected in accordance with its bye-law for a tenure of three years. Some of the key executive portfolios of the Federation are President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Secretary IPR, district-wise Joint Secretary, Chief Auditor, etc.
The President of the Federation for the tenure 2018-2021 is Mr Hali Welly and is assisted by Mr Shambo Flago as the Federation’s General Secretary.
Currently, there are more than 500 registered members with the Film Federation of Arunachal and about 50 registered production houses.

A Civil engineer by profession, Hali Welly by passion is a film director, a cinematographer, and an Itanagar-based award-winning photographer who is currently serving as the President of the Film Federation of Arunachal (FFA).

Shambo Flago is ARUNACHAL Director cum producer since from 2003, andGeneral secretary FILM FEDERATION OF ARUNACHAL (FFA Best director awardee of film ‘MANGKAR’.

He is winner of 6th film festival on short movie category , Besides being a filmmaker,he has Senior Diploma in Kathak Nritya from Bengia Sangeet Parishad West Bengal. Adjudged as young Talented Artiste for year 2011-2012 by Director, NEZCC Ministry of culture, Govt. of India.

Lobsang Chombey completed his studies in Arunachal Pradesh and moved to New Delhi. Joined BBC Trust Service in 2005. Worked mostly in Television postproduction; in his career of 15 years he has worked for NDTV, Fox History, BBC Media Action (Cambodia), Viacom 18, Voice of America, Good Times, TLC etc.
